As I have specified
earlier, I am part of a group of six girls and we are insanely crazy people.
(Warning: If you meet one of us, never
ever bitch about the other one of us, she will surely kick your ass and send
you to hell).
We are so close to
each other that we share every single thing that happens in our lives, talking
about studies to relationships, literally everything. We all are so different
from each other but we still understand and accept each other so well.
This beautiful
friendship started back in our initial months of college.
Here in IIT Jodhpur
we have an Family Culture of IIT,
which is basically a student guide system, in which 8-10 girls/boys are given
one student guide which is a 2nd year student and the girl student
guide is called Amma and boy student guide is called Bapu. And the kids under
each Amma and Bapu call each other brother and sister. Similarly we have Dadu-Dadi
.(3rd year students)
This system at
first seems a bit weird but with time you realize that this is a cool concept
to increase interaction between 1st yearites and 2nd
yearites and also among 1st yearites too.
So, let’s come back
to the topic for which this blog is dedicated.
We six are sisters.
In the initial
days, we had different set of friends with whom we used to hang-out whole day.
After a few time because of this whole Family culture of IIT, we started
getting close with each other and started hanging out with each other as we
were sisters.
Initially, all 9 of
us used to hang out together, but with time we realized that we six are more
comfortable with each other and can match each other’s level of mind and by
that I don’t mean anything related to intelligence.
So, we six made a
group and we proudly call ourselves ‘SASSY-SIX’.
If any one of us is
feeling low, she will just drop a message which says something simple like “My room ASAP” and within 5 min all are
in her room, asking what happened. (Because we all are on our phones 24x7).
If any one of us
starts crying regarding any issue like low marks or getting scolded by parents
or fighting with parents or regretting over something we said (which we all do
at some point of a time), we all start crying
(except one and maybe you know who you are if you are reading this).
To emotionally
support this crying session, we also play some sad songs too, which helps us
cry more. When we start crying on one topic, we bring out other topics in our
life which we feel like crying on and we cry on that topic too.
So, basically if
one starts crying, it ends up all of us crying.
Now, let’s talk
about some happy things and not crying over some baby-sized topics.
Whenever anyone of
us is hungry and wants to go to canteen or food-truck, a message is dropped in
the group saying “Anyone interested in
going to canteen/food-truck” and the interested one answers a yes.
If one of us is
going to take a nap and has a problem of waking up to an alarm (which we all
do, except one), we message in the group like “Wake me up at _”. And the person who is awake during that time will
bang the door (And maybe break it too) until she wakes up.
So, basically we
are like a mother to each other who supports her child no matter what. (If you
are a mother of any one of us, then I am sorry nobody amongst is trying to take
your place.)
So, this was
basically just an introduction of our group, now let me introduce you to each
member of the group.
For ease, I am
going to give names to each one of us, they won’t be our real names but these
names would be somewhat related to our life. You might get which name denotes
which one among us, if you know us.
CODER:-
She is a phenomenal
coder and can literally talk about coding and technology for 24hours. She is
the tech-person of our group.
She is also a
member of the dance club (like me), so we vibe on beats and can dance anytime
we hear some good song, which sometimes is an embarrassment for the other
members, but we don’t care. We keep on sending dance posts on Instagram to each
other.
She also loves
listening to songs with beats like EDMs. Our friendship basically started with
songs. We started sharing each other’s playlist and suggesting some good songs
to each other.
She always helps
all of us in life-related matters.
She is a very
strong headed girl. Till date, I have never seen her drop even a single tear
from her eye (which is opposite to other members).
She can literally
stay awake the whole night, doing coding or chatting with someone and can sleep
like a log the whole day.
She has a bit poor
sense of humour, though I am not saying I have a good sense of humour, but we
tease her and mockingly say to keep her mouth shut whenever some lame joke
comes out of her mouth.
She has a very
beautiful smile and we all adore her smile. She always keeps smiling and taking
life like life and not crying or getting sad over little things in life.
She gets good marks
even though she sleeps in class, which none of us has decoded yet.
I just want to say,
thank you so much for your advices related to life and making us laugh in very
serious situations.
She has a beautiful
soul which makes her unique.
DRAMA QUEEN:-
I have chosen this
name for her because she is literally the drama queen of our group. She can
literally manipulate anyone of us (especially me) by making cute faces and
talking in cute voices or by making us feel regret over something we haven’t
done or we shouldn’t feel regret over that thing.
I don’t know how
she does this but still we love her even though we hate her at those times.
Whenever we are
given any assignment or task in our class which we have to do in teams, she
always teams up with me because I’m one of the closest people in the class. The
teams are made so that we can interact with the whole class and can learn how
to communicate with others. But here we are, making teams with those who we
already know so well, so that we can chit-chat in class and gossip too.
She is one of the
cutest people I’ve met in my life, not only by looks but also by her
personality. We (majorly I) call her a teddy-bear, because she looks so chubby
n cute. And I love teddy bears, the way I love her.
I distinctively
remember one time, where I was feeling very low and it was midnight. Everyone was
asleep, she too. Still I went to her room and knocked the door. At first, she shouted
saying to let her sleep. But when I said that I wanted to talk and I’m feeling low,
she instantly woke up and opened the door for me. Even though she was so
sleepy, she sat with me and comforted me for 1-2 hours. That night, I realized
that I’ve found a friend who will be with my no matter what happens.
She always comes to
my room asking for food (because I’m a Gujarati and as all know Gujaratis have
24x7 supply of food). Also, whenever she comes to my room, it feels like a
tornado has attacked my room. Not a single thing in my room holds its position.
It’s like my room was held upside down for 2 minutes.
She also loves
Chicken-Chowmein which we get in our canteen, like me. At first, whenever I’ll
ask about going to canteen (which I do a lot), she’ll say a big NO, and then I’ll
take out my nuclear weapon which says ‘We’ll
order Chicken chowmein’ and I win.
She is not a
pet-lover. She gets so irritated when we all are sitting together and me and Hottie
start talking about our pets.
(Tip: Whenever you want to piss her off,
start talking about animals and enjoy the scene.)
Whenever she
knocks, I’m like “No God, not again, I
have just cleaned my room”. I have scolded her thousands of times to sit
properly and not pull my bed sheets out of my bed, but as if she is going to
listen to me.
But, no matter how
much I hate her for being such an untidy person, I also love her for being
there for me whenever I need her.
She is one of those
persons in my life at this stage of my life (and maybe for the rest of my life
too) that scolds me for my mistake but still understands me the most.
She is one of those
few people who tell me that I’m getting mood swings and asks me to calm down
during my PMS stage where I am a huge food-craver and gets a truck full of mood
swings.
She is someone who
hugs me and says everything will be fine whenever I’m feeling low.
In the end, she
will always hold a very special place in my heart. (I still hate you)
MEMER:-
She is one of the
famous people in our group. She is famous for her sarcasm and her memes.
She is one of the
sweetest person I have ever known. She is a huge Anime fan.
She talks so much
about Attack on Titan, Death note, Kaguya-sama (These names are learnt by heart
till now to all of us and the credit goes to her).
Because of her, I
have started watching Tokyo Ghoul (which is an anime, if you don’t know) (and
my first anime series).
She is gorgeous at
sketching. The way she draws eyes of human characters is something which made
me a fan of her sketches.
She keeps on making
pages on Instagram and then keeps on deleting them as well.
She gets huge loads
of mood swings (like me) and becomes quite dangerous like an atomic bomb which
can blast anytime during those crucial days.
But still she is a
very good person. She always supports us.
She is like me when
it comes to keeping room clean and I love her for that. (Please don’t change)
Though she makes
jokes on us and never answers any question of us in a normal human way but we
still love her.
HOTTIE:-
(I know you will
kill me for giving you this name but truth is truth and it can’t be changed).
She eats a lot but
we don’t know why she doesn’t get fat. (This irritates us all)
She is a kid from
inside but acts very mature when the situation calls for it.
She is one of the
most understanding people I’ve met in my life.
Sometimes I feel
that she is like Joey (from F.R.I.E.N.D.S.)
who says ‘Joey doesn’t share food!!’
She never likes to share her food unless and until we emotionally blackmail her
by saying ‘You are so mean, we all give
you our food but you don’t’. This usually works.
(Advice: If you want her to share food
with you, blackmail her and for this you can take some tips from the Drama Queen
of our group as she is good in drama when it comes to these things.)
(Though, this might
not work when it comes to her favourite food. But still you can always try.)
She is famous in
our group for always ordering stuff online and then returning it in 1-2 days,
finding any type of fault in it. Till now, she has been blocked by a shopping
website. Not only did she successfully got her account blocked, but she also
got Coder’s account blocked by the same website.
(Warning: Never let her shop from your
account. Your account might get block.)
She loves animals
(opposite to Drama-Queen). Whenever we two are alone, we have only one topic
for discussion, it is our pets. Whenever I miss my rabbits, I always go to her
and share my feelings, because she knows how it feels to stay away from your babies
(which are our pets. Don’t get any other thoughts.) We both can literally talk
about our babies for a whole day. We discuss what type of mischiefs they do and
how many scratches we have been given by our babies.
She is obsessed
with babies (and this time I mean human babies and not our pets). We keep on
sending posts related to ‘human’ babies and animals to each other all the time
on Instagram.
In the end, you are
the cutest member of our group (I am sorry Drama-Queen) and I love you for
always understanding me.
MIDNIGHT SINGER:
Now, you might be
thinking from the name that she will be a very good singer, but it’s not
completely true. She sings well (Better than me, atleast). I chose this name
for her because she sleeps quite late at night, and whenever she steps out of
the room at night, she sings old songs (which I love though), which scares the
shit out of us, if we encounter her during those times. Sometimes, it’s seems
like she is a ghost wandering around in our hostel during midnight singing
songs like in classic Bollywood horror films.
She is always ready
to help anyone. You have a problem, go to her. You want something, go to her.
She never says no. She always handles things very calmly. She is always smiling
and singing songs. She is the coolest amongst us.
She is a bit childish,
but that’s what makes her special. She is also very mature when it comes to
something serious; she has always supported me and has been there whenever
anyone of us needed.
Even though she
looks cute and beautiful, she is a bit naughty too. Just when I think that she
is innocent she does something which changes my opinion.
She gets really
scared whenever we talk about ghosts. Once, I remember Drama-Queen scared her
and she got so scared. Not only is she afraid of ghosts but also furry teddy
bears. I have a small bunny teddy bear which everyone finds cute, but not her.
She is so afraid of it that she doesn’t even touch it.
She is crazy about
maggi. If you ever go with her to the canteen, then you’ll definitely find
maggi on your bill. When no one has maggi at their room, she has. She is so
crazy for maggi, that she can make maggi in her sleep.
Also, the thing
which is very different about her is she loves salt. Yes, you have read it
right, she loves eating salt. She is so crazy about it that she even stole a
bottle of salt from mess. (Don’t tell anyone about it!)
No matter how weird
she is, she is still very beautiful. According to me and I guess according to
all of us, she looks good in all the outfits like Indian, Western, etc.
So, I guess this is
pretty much it about all of us. You now know the other 5 and maybe if you are
reading this blog, you might know me too. Well, when I first started writing
it, I thought why anyone would be interested in knowing about my Girl-Gang. But
then, I thought that it’s OK if anyone is not interested in reading it, at
least this would be a memory of us on my website.
After our
graduation, when we will all be separated, this blog would always be there to
remind us how weird we were in our college life and how crazy our Girl-Gang
was.
I think I’ll end it
now. If you are amongst us six, then I love you and I will always be there for
you even after we have been separated. Also, I feel really blessed to have you
guys in my life.
